•Health Care Reform

Liberal groups, like moveon.org are still determined to push for the public option. And, they took that fight outside Anthem Blue-Cross Blue Shield in South Portland. The protesters say insurance companies, like Anthem, are working to stop health care reform, and more specifically, a public option. Moveon is saying that insurance companies don't like the public option because it will force them to cut costs for their members, ultimately cutting their profits. But, some insurance companies, including Anthem, insist it'll actually drive up premiums. We weren't able to get a direct response to the protests from Anthem, but the company spokesman did give us a breakdown of how your premium dollar is spent. The company claims $0.87 goes to providing medical services to you, including doctors visits, hospital stays and prescription drugs. $0.10 goes to compliance, claims processing and other administrative costs. And, $0.03 of every dollar represents insurers' profits.Protesters Converge On Anthem in Maine; Call For Public Option
