Brady Attacks Opponents at Press Conference
Bill Brady is taking a swing at his opponents in the GOP gubernatorial primary. At a press conference at the capitol Tuesday, Brady said he is the only real Republican in the race, and that voting for Rauner and Dillard would be supporting Chicago democrats.
The Republican from Bloomington says his path to victory is to turn out the core Republican vote.
"I'm the only reliable Republican in this race. A vote for Bruce Rauner is a vote to give the keys to state government to Rahm Emanuel at City Hall. A vote for Dillard is a vote for Bruce Rauner," said Brady.
According to the Associated Press, a union-backed group responsible for anti-Rauner ads announced that it will no longer air ads.
Brady is calling on Dillard to come clean about the deal he cut with AFSCME leaders in order to get their endorsements.
According to the Rauner campaign, voters are excited to have someone new to "shake up Springfield."
His campaign says voters do not want his opponents in the governors' office who have spent decades in Springfield without improving the state.
