Millikin Sorority Serves Green Eggs and Ham
Were you a fan of Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham? You could actually try it this weekend at Millikin University.
The Phi Beta Phi sorority opened its doors Sunday evening for the annual Green Eggs and Ham fundraiser. The event helps raise money for children's literacy.
Attendees were able to enjoy actually green eggs and pancakes for just $3.
Organizers said it feels right to help these children.
"It's nice to see them come in, want to help you, help support your philanthropy, and help you support literacy, so we can come into the classroom still and affect all the children," event organizer Marlina Zimmerman said.
All proceeds allow the sorority to purchase textbooks for children to read. The organizers said they had spent a month preparing for the event.
