Kincaid Mayor Arrested Again
UPDATED March 13, 4:37 p.m.
Kincaid Mayor Doug Thomas was arrested by Illinois State Police at the Kincaid Village Hall just before 11:00 this morning.
Thomas is charged with violating an order of protection. State police say Thomas contacted the protected person on March 1.
He is currently in the Christian County Jail, and is expected to go before a judge Friday.
This is Thomas's second arrest in the past month. On February 20, Christian County deputies arrested him on charges of violating an emergency order of protection and possession of a controlled substance.
A petition for Thomas to resign began circulating after his first arrest. At a meeting Monday night, Thomas admitted to violating the order of protection which led to his first arrest, but said he doesn't think it'll get in the way of him doing his job. He has said many times that he will not resign.
