Two Mumps Cases Confirmed in Morgan County
The Morgan County Health Department has confirmed two cases of mumps, and is investigating another suspected case.
Mumps is a contagious disease that's spread when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks. Symptoms include swelling between the ear and jaw, headache, fever, muscle aches, and tiredness.
If a person is affected, symptoms generally develop 12 to 25 days after exposure.
According to the county health department, the cases appear to be isolated and no common link has been identified.
