District 186 Extends Interim Superintendent Position
For each day District 186 doesn't have the superintendent position filled, Bob Leming will make $650.
He says he hopes to have a new superintendent by the end of the year. Another issue brought up tonight was the Administrative Residency Policy.
Since 1983, interim superintendent, Bob Leming, says there has been a policy that makes all administrators stay within the school district boundaries. Tonight the board discussed if the policy is actually being enforced.
"It's good enough to collect your paycheck here, but it's not good enough to live here, I have a personal issue and problem with that," board member, Adam Lopez, said.
"It's some work to be done on the policy in identifying who's administration who's not, so to react to that without thinking about it a lot is dangerous," interim superintendent, Bob Leming, said.
Right now, Bob Leming said there are at least four administrators who live outside the district. One of those will be leaving Springfield schools.
Board member, Adam Lopez, is drafting up a new policy for the July first meeting. The board wants to have a policy set by August.
