Volunteers Needed for Cancer Prevention Study
If you saw people wearing sneakers with dress suits today at the capitol, here's why. The American Cancer Society is drumming up support for a prevention study. They're looking for volunteers between the ages of 30 and 65 who have never been diagnosed with cancer. They want to analyze their lifestyle and genetics to better understand what can cause and prevent this deadly disease.
The initiative, which is being dubbed Coaches vs. Cancer, is getting a lot of support, including from Loyola University Chicago basketball coach Porter Moser.
"Everybody can join this team," Moser said. "Everybody can make this happen and win this fight. That's what's great about what's going on right now."
The goal is to enroll at least 300,000 adults across the country. They're looking for 6,500 just in Illinois. Click here to find out how you can get involved.
