ELECTION PREVIEW: Morgan County TB Clinic Merger
Morgan County is one of only seven counties in the state to have a standalone TB clinic, but that may soon change. Commissioners want to combine the TB clinic with the health department in order to save taxpayers money.
The county usually levies around $110,000 for the TB clinic, but merging with the health department could save the county close to $60,000.
The proposition will be on the ballot in the April 9 election.
There have only been five cases of tuberculosis in Morgan County in the last five years, and there is only one active case right now.
