State Fair Announces Concert Lineup
The Illinois State Fair is not for another six months, but organizers are already planning the action. Today, we spoke with state fair officials about entertainment. The word is already out about a performance by country superstar Toby Keith. In fact, those tickets go on sale tomorrow. But today we also learned REO Speedwagon and Styx are joining the lineup. You can also catch The Band Perry, Billy Currington, Gary Allen, Thompson Square, and more.
"Really, we're thrilled with the lineup," state fair manager Amy Bliefnick said. "We have some holes in the lineup and have some things that we still haven't--can't announce yet, but we think that being this early that it ought to be a great fair."
The cast of the Million Dollar Quartet is back for more. They plan on giving a free concert.
We also now know the theme of the fair is "Where Illinois Comes Together." Organizers said that theme is the perfect way to describe this loved tradition that Illinoisans have experienced for more than 160 years.
The fair kicks off Thursday, August 8--exactly six months from today. It continues through August 18.
