Fugitive Files: Tyler Sigretto
Tonight, a Springfield man accused of committing a hate crime--pulling a knife and cutting a man who was out walking his dog--is on the loose. The fugitive files are cooling off, and local detectives want your help to solve this case.
For a month now, the suspect has managed to hide out on the wrong side of the law, but deputies say it's time for him to be found and put in jail where he belongs.
The man they're looking for is Tyler Sigretto. He's 18 years old and wanted on a warrant with a $50,000 bond.
In surveillance video from November 3, you can see the victim punch Sigretto in the face in self-defense after the suspect yelled racial slurs and threatened him. Sigretto chases after the victim, and that's when authorities say Sigretto cut his finger with a knife.
In the video above, ABC Newschannel 20's Liz Foster talks with Undersheriff Jack Campbell about this case.
If you have any information on where Sigretto may be, call the Fugitive Files tipline at 217-853-6666. You don't have to tell your name or say how you know the suspect.
