State Sen. Charged for Attempting to Board Plane with Weapon
An Illinois state senator is in hot water with the law. Chicago police said Sen. Donne Trotter had an unloaded gun and ammunition in a carry-on bag when he tried to board a flight at O'Hare International Airport headed to Washington D.C.
Trotter was charged with a felony count of attempting to board an aircraft with a firearm. Chicago police said he is licensed to carry a weapon and has a firearm owner's identification card.
