November Unusually Cool, Dry in Illinois
If you're thinking it's been unusually dry lately, you'd be correct. Overall, Illinois has had an unusually warm year temperature-wise. But the month of November was abnormally cool and dry.
The average statewide precipitation last month was more than two inches below normal, making it the 17th-driest November in more than a century.
Our average temperature was almost 41 degrees--1.1 degrees below normal.
