Thanksgiving Traffic Deaths Down
Traffic deaths in Illinois were down nearly 63 percent over the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend compared to last year. Officials with IDOT said good road conditions had a lot to do with it.
This year, there were two crashes and three deaths. Last year, there were seven crashes and eight deaths.
State transportation secretary Ann Schneider said seatbelt usage is at a record high in Illinois, and annual traffic fatalities are on track to be below 1,000 for the fourth consecutive year.
