Cards Rolled by Rockies
DENVER (AP) -- Matt Holliday had four singles, Jorge De La Rosa scattered five hits over 5 2-3 innings and the Colorado Rockies beat the St. Louis Cardinals 9-3 Thursday to salvage a split in the four-game series.
It's the 11th time Holliday has tied his career high of four hits. He also scored three runs.
Omar Quintanilla added a career-high three hits and Garrett Atkins finished 2-for-3 with a double, triple and two RBIs.
De La Rosa (1-1) was making his second start for Colorado since being acquired April 30 from the Triple-A Omaha Royals. He gave up two runs while striking out five.
Kyle Lohse (3-2) struggled for a second straight outing, allowing seven runs and eight hits in four innings.
White Sox Rally Against Twins
CHICAGO (AP) -- Jermaine Dye homered for the third straight game and Juan Uribe added a go-ahead two-run drive in the fifth to help the struggling Chicago White Sox beat the Minnesota Twins 6-2 on Thursday.
John Danks (3-3) made it through five innings, giving up six hits and two runs, and Chicago won for just the second time in nine games.
Minnesota manager Ron Gardenhire returned after missing five games following the death of his brother, but his first game back was an abbreviated one. He was ejected for the 37th time in his career and first time this season in the sixth inning by plate umpire Doug Eddings after a double steal by the White Sox.
