"AMERICAN IDOL" LOSES LACEY BROWN
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The bottom three vote-getters on "American Idol" last night were Paige Miles, Tim Urban and Lacey Brown -- and Urban looked positively stunned when he was sent back to safety. Brown was the one given the boot, and the judges refused to use their power to save her. To add insult to injury, Miles and Brown were roommates. To add further insult, Simon Cowell told her the decision not to save her was unanimous. Brown says maybe she'll go the country route and she wants to keep singing for her fans and for herself.
ALLISON IRAHETA WILL SING BEFORE L.A. MARATHON
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Allison Iraheta from last season of "American Idol" will sing rather than run. She will perform the national anthem before the Los Angeles Marathon on Sunday. Iraheta ran the marathon twice.
JET APPRECIATE FANS WHO APPRECIATE THEM
CHICAGO (AP) -- If the guys in Jet want a new pair of socks in Japan, all they have to do is wish for it onstage. Singer Nic Cester says their Japanese fans are so rabid he's got a tiny idea of what it must have been like to be in The Beatles. Cester says bassist Mark Wilson once mentioned he was sick and within half an hour their fans had shown up with medicine. Cester says their fans all over the world have the best intentions, even if they don't think it through. He says one American bakes them pastries and she shipped them to Tasmania, but by the time the package arrived the pastries had gone rancid.
"JIMMY FALLON" PLANS WEEKLONG TRIBUTE TO "EXILE ON MAIN STREET"
NEW YORK (AP) -- Jimmy Fallon will dedicate a whole week of his show to the Rolling Stones album "Exile on Main Street." It's being reissued with new bonus tracks on May 18. Fallon's show will do a tribute to the album the week of May 10. He has not yet announced the musical acts. He says there are special guests planned, but he can't say who yet. However, he did imitate one of them by pouting out his lips, putting his hands on his hips and talking in a British accent, and he says the other guest "rhymes with 'Keith Richards."'
