"NEW MOON" - KRISTEN STEWART
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) -- Kristen Stewart says it was "the scariest thing" filming the breakup scene with Edward in "New Moon." She says it's such an iconic part of the book she didn't want to mess it up. It's not like she could draw from personal experience. She says she knows what it's like to be dumped, but not by a vampire. She says when Bella and Edward split it she was like an addict going through withdrawal. She says it was "the most intimidating scene in the entire movie." Twi-hards got their first look at the film at midnight last night. Today, it opens nationwide.
"PLANET 51" - DWAYNE JOHNSON
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Sure, it's just an animated comedy not to be taken seriously. And sure, the astronaut who's the lead character is kind of goofy. But the studio still wanted NASA's blessing before releasing "Planet 51." They got it. Dwayne Johnson voices the astronaut. He met with some real life space men. He says they were "great guys" who loved the movie and appreciated its message. Planet 51 opens today. <
"THE BLIND SIDE" - TIM McGRAW
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Before playing him in "The Blind Side," Tim McGraw knew who Sean Tuohy was in real life. Most people wouldn't. But, McGraw says as a kid growing up in northern Louisiana, he got to see a lot of Ole Miss games and Sean Tuohy played for Ole Miss. "The Blind Side" is the story of a a couple, Sean and the very strong-willed Leigh Anne Tuohy, played by McGraw and Sandra Bullock, who take-in and eventually adopt a poverty-stricken classmate of their daughter's. That student is Michael Oher , who now plays for the Baltimore Ravens. McGraw says he lives in a home where his wife, Faith Hill, "runs the show." He says he's thankful she does. "The Blind Side" opens today.
OPRAH PICKS DATE FOR FINAL SHOW
CHICAGO (AP) -- What are you doing September 9, 2011? A lot of people probably will be watching the final edition of "The Oprah Winfrey Show." Winfrey has chosen September 9, 2011 because it's 25 years to the day she started. On today's show, she'll talk about her decision to end the show. Winfrey's early years in broadcasting were in Nashville and Baltimore. In 1984, she then moved to Chicago to host WLS-TV's morning talk show "A.M. Chicago." That show was renamed "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in 1985. A year later, Winfrey established Harpo Productions by spelling her name backwards. 1986 also was the year her talk show went into syndication. She's done OK with this TV venture. Earlier this year, Forbes put Winfrey's net worth at $2.7 billion <
"LOST" RETURNS FOR FINAL SEASON IN FEBRUARY
BURBANK, Calif. (AP) -- Who knows if "Lost" will make any more sense in its sixth and final season? That last season starts Tuesday, February 2. Before the premiere, there's a one-hour recap.
"CHUCK" TO RETURN IN JANUARY
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. (AP) -- "Chuck" will be back in action Sunday night, January 10. Two new episodes will air back-to-back. Then, a third will air the next night, Monday, January 11. "Chuck" will continue on Mondays. Guests for this third season include Angie Harmon as an enemy operative, Brandon Routh as a CIA agent, Robert Patrick as a soldier and spy from Casey's past, Kristin Kreuk as a possible love interest for Chuck, Armand Assante as a dictator who's the target of an assassin, Stone Cold Steve Austin who gets involved in Chuck's first solo mission and Vinnie Jones as an arms dealer.
"GENERAL HOSPITAL" - JAMES FRANCO
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- James Franco becomes Mystery-Man "Franco" today. This is his first appearance on "General Hospital." Franco is described as a mystery person who comes to Port Charles. His life will intertwine with several of the people who live there. The role is recurring.
