Bryan Boes
WICS Sports Director
Bryan is originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan but comes to WICS from Fort Wayne, Indiana where he had lived since 2000.
During his stay in the Hoosier state, Bryan served as the radio announcer for the Fort Wayne Wizards baseball team and worked as a sports anchor and reporter at WISE33 TV.
It's been all broadcasting for Bryan since his graduation from Aquinas College in 1993. He started his career as a disc jockey at a small AM radio station working from 7pm until midnight spinning such timeless classics as Eddie Rabbitt's "I love a rainy night" and the Little River Band's "Cool Change". When given the chance, he also did some announcing of high school and college football and basketball.
The world of sports has brought about a number of different experiences for Bryan including his own radio talk show, a run in with Paula Abdul at the Indy 500, and interviews with baseball great Tony Gwynn, IRL driver Sam Hornish Jr., and legendary announcer Ernie Harwell. Oh, and there was the argument with Alan Trammell at spring training, but that story is for a later time.
Bryan is a fan of all the Detroit teams (even the Lions) and can't wait to see Andre Dawson finally get into the baseball Hall of Fame. His favorite tv show is The Simpson's, his favorite movie is The Ten Commandments, and he has a not-so-secret crush on actress Cameron Diaz.
